Neoliberal movements in the discourse of land demarcation in Palmeira dos Índios

This article seeks to analyze the discursive event of August 20, 2013, in which a movement of squatters and land grabbers of indigenous lands gathered against FUNAI and the process of demarcation of lands of the Xukuru-Kariri people, in Palmeira dos Índios, city located in the Agreste of the State of Alagoas. Taking a theoretical note from the discourse analysis of the French line of affiliated with Pêcheux, we intend to shed light on the conditions of discourse production, as well as analyze material (brochure) distributed by the group that calls itself “Palmeira de Todos”, as well as the article from the news site G1 Alagoas, the discursive materialities that show the neoliberal movements ideologically questioning the land and the subjects that inhabit it.
